"Wayne and I shared lots of laughs on the golf course. We couldn't seem to figure out that goofy yet fun game. We also had great times as AIA volunteer leaders in our communities and around the state.
I admired his ability to balance his time with family, architectural practice, community service including being and active member of the Tucson Conquistadors. The group managed the PGA/ Tucson open which Wayne chaired one year. What an enormous undertaking that if close to the effort the chairman of the annual Phoenix/Waste Management Open expends all I can say is WOW!
I'm sad that modern medicine was defeated by his illness. Sometimes the most gallant fight is not enough. Through all the difficulties I am sure Wayne found positive things to focus on. This is how I remember Wayne ..a positive, upbeat guy with a smile and distinctive laugh. I can hear it now.
So long FRIEND..."
