William Edward Backscheider's Obituary
Marana, AZ – William Edward Backscheider of Marana, Arizona passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, June 14, 2018. Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Henry Backscheider and Loretta Quigley Backscheider on August 2, 1931.
Bill served in the U.S. Army from September 30, 1949 until honorably discharged January 1, 1952. Bill then joined the U.S. Air Force from August 29, 1950 until honorably discharged December 19, 1955. He served in the 39th Bomb Wing (SAC) as a flight electrician/gunner.
Bill worked as an Electrician and at one time owned his own electrical business. He enjoyed playing golf and working in his yard. He is survived by his children, Theresa (Steve) Court; Kevin (Lourdes) Backscheider and Angie (Phil) Smeigh, 6 grandchildren, Brad Smith, Michelle Anderson, Sarah (Ryan) Wilkinson, Brian Court, Jacklyn Backscheider, and Tanya (Alonzo) Bailey; 2 great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, and brothers Herb and Henry, and sister, Helen.
Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Evergreen Mortuary with burial to follow immediately after at Evergreen Cemetery
