William Humphrey Bonsall's Obituary
William Humphrey Bonsall, 74, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on February 12, 2025 at TMC Hospice Peppi’s House.
While he lived a big life seeing the world, he never forgot where he came from. Bill was born to Lois and Harry Bonsall on August 2, 1950, in Glendale, Arizona. He grew up in Glendale, Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona but ultimately graduated from Arizona State University. He married his college sweetheart and enjoyed a 53-year-long marriage to Nancy.
He received his Master’s degree from Kansas State University in Food Chemistry. He built and ran factories and bakeries in Phoenix and Mexico. He was proud of his work creating jobs and baking bread for the masses, but he cared most about his relationships and his impact on others.
Bill was forever curious, empathetic, and generous. He loved to fish, travel, garden, and host parties. He focused on creating joy and experiences for others.
He loved his family passionately, taking them on adventures and opening their eyes to a new world when he moved them to Mexico. His passion for art and the search of origin and culture filled their lives with learning.
Bill is survived by his wife Nancy; his children Sam, Zach (Kelley), and Melissa Knight (Simon); grandchildren Diego, Emme, Elsie, and Izzy; siblings Harry (Gena), Mary Ann O’Neil (Jim), and Mark (Mary.
Donations to honor Bill’s legacy can be made to Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona or Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
