Yana Maria Teresa Gomez's Obituary
Yana Gomez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and devoted Catholic, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. She was born on February 10, 1940, in San Genaro, Argentina. Yana was married to Francisco "Tito" Gomez, and soon after they emigrated from Argentina to start a new life in Tucson, Arizona. Yana and Tito shared 47 wonderful years together, until his passing in 2010. They were blessed with five children: Debby, Jacque, Jantzen, Gerhard, and Yana Giselle. Together they established a successful construction business, where Yana managed the overall administrative operations and Francisco was out on the job sites. A devout Catholic, Yana continued her parent's example of prioritizing faith and education for her children. Her commitment to her beliefs and her church was unwavering and inspirational to those who knew her.
Her family was her greatest passion, and found immense joy in nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Yana was the proud grandmother to Giovann, Adriana, Luca, Luciana, Gianluca, Andres, and Maximo, and great-grandmother to Gianna.
Yana is survived by her sister Mary and her brother Augustin. Her legacy of love, devotion, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Francisco, and together, they will continue to watch over their family. Yana’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral mass to honor Yana's life will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church on August 3, 2024.
She will rest in eternal peace, together with Tito, at the main mausoleum of Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery.
