Yvonne was a classmate in Ithaca High School Class of 1953. I was helping to update our class roster few years ago and the last address we had for Yvonne was in Cortland. Although I did not personally know Yvonne, I went to Cortland and found she had recently moved to Tucson. I found a phone number for her there and we had a lovely chat. It is rewarding to find another classmate who touched so many lives as Yvonne obviously did. I send my condolences to her family and friends.

I remember yvonne as a nice women, how Wayne and I use to play in her yard with steve and linda , walking on her fence in her front yard. One time we would slade ride down the back yard little hill.years later I would visit yvonne, we would talk about the old days and how we would go slade industry down our hill..yvonne did great job rising two great childern .linda and Steve I will keep you both in my prayer . My dad has been gone almost 5 yrs.l. now

LOVED Mrs. Francis! She was my fourth grade teacher and made a huge impact. I was new to Randall that year and she made me feel so welcomed and loved. She helped me to come out of my shell...I was very shy. I still remember so many things about her and the stories she told. One being a discussion on glasses and contact lenses. She brought in her first pair of contact lenses. The lenses were made of glass and covered her entire eye (we couldn't believe she would put those in her eye). She then told us she wore them on a date and the man told her her eyes shone like glass and her reply was, "well, they are." The point? We were learning about the human body in science. This was part of helping us understand the eyes. I also remember her speaking of her son during a math lesson. He was living in California, which we thought was amazing! She told us about getting up a 3 am and her son and his friend being surprised. She told us that she was used to waking at 6 every morning, so that's what she did, even on vacation. The point? She was trying to help us understand time zones. Great lesson because I never forgot that California was 3 hours behind NY. Amazing what we remember from years past. She will be dearly missed and I send my condolences to her family. She was a remarkable woman!

Yvonne and I shared mutual friends, and we got to know each other well. We often did things together (shopping lunch, community events, etc.) and we always had a good time. Yvonne was a kind and loving woman, and she was always fun to be around. She enjoyed her life and made everyone around her happy. We were sad when she moved away. I am sorry that she's gone, but I'm glad that she died peacefully. She deserved that.

My heart goes out to the family. Mrs. Francis was my fourth grade teacher in the early 80's, and I still remember fourth grade as the highlight of elementary school. Mrs. Francis was firm but fair. She displayed a great sense of humor and emanated loving care for her students. She saw potential in me that I could not see myself. I have been a high school teacher for 20 years and credit some of this journey to her. Thank you Mrs. Francis! May you be at peace.
