About Us
The Evergreen Difference
Since 1907, we have been honored to deliver healing experiences to the Tucson community. We exist to serve the unique needs of every family. Learn our story. Lean on us. And let our expertise lead you through the best experience possible.
Our pledge
We’re here to give you care and comfort as we help guide you through the planning journey.
Our Story
We've learned a lot about caring for families over the years. We realize that we aren't just caring for a loved one, but the entire family. People come to us during their most difficult times, and we respond with kindness, understanding and expertise. Our goal is to make everyone feel at home as we work with them to create a memorable service in honor of a beautiful life.
1907
Evergreen was founded in 1907 as a place outside of the rapidly growing Tucson city limits for burial purposes. Today, the remains of many pioneers from old ranch sites and homesteads are re-interred within Evergreen’s boundaries.
1974
Foreseeing the necessity for complete funeral services in one convenient location, Evergreen Mortuary was established in 1974, making Evergreen the first and the largest mortuary and cemetery combination in Southern Arizona.
1982
In 1982 the National Funeral Directors Association initiated their “Pursuit of Excellence Program” and Evergreen immediately became involved. Since then, Evergreen consistently has been recognized for our participation; receiving three Eagle Awards, gaining the prestigious Emeritus Status and ultimately receiving the Crystal Eagle Awards.
2014
Evergreen was acquired by NorthStar Memorial Group (NSMG) in 2014. For more than a decade, NSMG has guided the future of the funeral and memorialization profession with a mission to care, comfort and plan. NSMG represents the nation's finest funeral, cemetery, cremation and memorialization locations. Each is unique, each is home to a tradition of leadership, and all uphold our promise of unprecedented passion and service.
Awarded as one of the best
Not only has Evergreen has been named as one of the top three funeral homes in Tucson for a second year in a row by Three Best Rated, but Evergreen Mortuary has also been recognized as a Finalist for Best Mortuary 2019 by the Arizona Daily Star and Tucson.com Readers Choice Awards.
Splendor for acres
Situated on 110 acres of serenity, Evergreen is proud to be listed as a Bird Sanctuary by the Audubon Society of Tucson, where during migration season many unique species can be sighted, due to our extensive and vast collection of trees.
One-stop convenience
Our mortuary, cemetery and crematory are all available in one location. The facilities at Evergreen Mortuary, Cemetery & Crematory are specially designed to ensure a comfortable, dignified environment.

Trena, Doug, and the team at Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery was very professional and was very accommodating for my grandpa's services. Throughout the process to order my grandpa's headstone, Trena had been very helpful and was making sure everything on the proof was correct and how we wanted it.
