Adele Elentuch Reis

Adele Elentuch Reis, 97, of New York City and Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on November 20, 2020. A native of Gloversville, New York, Adele lived in Stuyvesant Town, in Manhattan for over 68 years. She loved her bustling life in New York City and thoroughly enjoyed all that New York had to offer: opera, concerts, ballet, theater, art museums and galleries galore. Adele was active and involved in her community and believed in giving generously of her time and energy to many worthy causes and institutions: Jewish War Veterans, Hospital Audiences, B’nai Brith (many roles, finally as Chapter President ) Anti-Defamation League of B’nai Brith (ADL), Girl Scouts, East End Temple, and Beth Israel Medical Center where she volunteered until she was in her 90s. Adele was passionate about reading, literacy, Chinese brush painting, gardening “on the cove”, walking everywhere, and her family. Adele was predeceased by her beloved parents, Edna and Isadore Lakind, her sister, Lila Schaber, and her brother, Arnold Lakind. She was also preceded in death by Maurice Elentuch, Harold Jack Mamber and George W. Reis. Adele is survived by her daughters Deborah Frent (Bruce,) Iris Elentuch, and Barbara Reisfeld (Edwin) Granddaughter Jessica Davis (Clifton) and grandsons Peter Reisfeld (Michelle) and David Reisfeld. A memorial celebration of her life will be held in New York City as the country heals from the pandemic.
