You have been in my thoughts as you laid Jimmy to rest today. I'm truly sorry that we have never had a chance to meet. The fault is mine. We live in the Phoenix area, and there is no excuse for our not taking time to drive down to Tucson these past four years. He loved all of your greatly and would often share stories even though he knew that we did not know any of you. However, I want you to know that no matter how long of a time there was in-between our visits, Jimmy was always most gracious, and it seemed that we never had a problem picking right up where we left off. In fact, we could laugh together about almost anything. I truly treasure those calls that he made during this period. I'm certain that we were not the only ones in his life that felt that way. He was definitely a people oriented person who loved everyone. I loved the photo that you chose for this page because it truly conveys his personality as it literally pops off the page! I first met Jim when he would come to my great aunt's home in IL for the holidays from NJ where he and Chuck lived. He would be the life of the party as he, Chuck, Carol and Aunt Clara would open their home and invite my parents and us to share a wonderful evening with them. We treasure those memories and just wish that they could have lasted forever. When my husband and I moved to teach at the university level in River Forest, IL, we would get to see Jim and Chuck at their home on Lake Geneva every fall as our faculty would spend a weekend preparing for the new academic year. We lost touch when my husband, mother and I moved to Shanghai, China, to open an international school there in 1998. When we retired in 2007 and moved to the Phoenix area, we knew that they had moved to Tucson to be near family and often wondered exactly where Chuck and Jim lived in Tucson. It wasn't until I started doing some research on ancestry that Jim and I reconnected. I was devastated to learn that Chuck had died, but Jim made me feel so warm when we talked and he told me that talking with me brought Chuck back to him. He will truly be remembered and greatly missed by me and my husband, but we will always treasure the person that he was and the special times that we shared over the years.
