Diana Lynn Hitt's Obituary
Diana Lynn Hitt, of Oro Valley AZ , unexpectedly passed away late in the day September 21st, 2022 .
Diana was born on January 21st, 1945 to George E. and Opal ‘Midge’ Moorman in Cleveland, Ohio, where she resided until 18 years of age with her three other siblings, Kathy (Shields), Cheryl (James) and Scott Moorman. Immediately following Dianas’ graduation from high school the family relocated Tucson Arizona, where Diana lived for the next 59 years.
In 1965, Diana met and fell in love with Harvey ‘Pete’ Hitt (84), of Tucson, Arizona. Pete attended the vocational school where Diana worked and within months of their being introduced they were married in January 1966 and went on to have one child, Kelly Hitt Thomson of Oro Valley, Arizona. Pete and Diana shared a loving and devoted marriage together for over 57 years.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents George and Opal Moorman, her sister Cheryl James and brother Scott Moorman. She is survived by her husband Harvey ‘Pete’ Hitt of Oro Valley, daughter Kelly Hitt Thomson, Sister Kathy Shields (Rod) of Orofino Idaho, niece Erin Leigh (Matt) Russell and their two children Lexi and Jackson, niece Jessica Hinton (Brian) of Gilbert Arizona and their son Mason and niece Gradi Thomson (David) and their three children Addison, Dalton and Cassidy of Wieppe, Idaho.
A small memorial for the family of Diana will be held at Evergreen Cemetery 3015 North Oracle Road, Tucson AZ 85705 on Wednesday September 28th, 2022. An open reception welcoming all that knew and loved Diana will be held Wednesday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Pete and Dianas’ home located at 9860 N. Ridge Shadow Place Oro Valley, AZ 85704.
Pete and Kelly would like to thank Captain Rene Sanchez with Golder Ranch Fire for his sincerity and care along with the team of paramedics that did all they could for Diana. Heathre McAlees with Northwest Fire for being the most compassionate rock of strength during those difficult hours. And to the Oro Valley Police Department, specifically Sargent Mike McBride and Deputy Austin Grijalva for their presence empathy and care.
