Douglas Roy Halpern's Obituary
Douglas Roy Halpern died in Tucson, AZ on February 12, 2022. He was born in Shreveport, LA on January 15, 1939. Predeceased by his father Roy Halpern and his mother Pauline Wilson Halpern, Doug is survived by his sisters Sophia Paulette Halpern Rittenberg and Elizabeth Annette Halpern Hinds and their families. Doug spent most of his life in Tucson, and after obtaining a Masters in Social Work he worked as a social worker. He loved playing the guitar and singing folk songs with friends and performing them at hootennannies. He also was a collector of American Indian Art. Doug had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor and was a master at getting small children to laugh. He also loved dogs and spoke their language. He was an avid reader throughout his life. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
