Jeffrey A. Adelstone's Obituary
On Wednesday, October 23rd, Jeff passed away peacefully at the age of 66. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in Tucson. He attended Tucson High School where he met the love of his life, Ruth. He graduated from high school in 1965. He then attended the University of Arizona where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Business. Jeff played the saxophone in the U of A Pride of Arizona marching band and he had the privilege of performing with the band in the first Super Bowl halftime show. Jeff's passion for the Arizona Wildcats was well known. Jeff started his business, AFS Tax and Planning Group from his garage in 1975. His business grew into a highly successful and well respected establishment in Tucson. Jeff's alphabet soup of designations included an E.A., C.F.P., A.B.A., A.T.A., A.T.P., E.C.S., and C.S.A. One significant honor in his life was his opportunity to meet George W. Bush in the Oval Office. His expertise in tax, accounting, and financial planning impacted many in the community. Jeff lived his professional and personal life with the utmost honesty and integrity. Everyone who encountered Jeff experienced his generosity. Jeff enjoyed many travels and was blessed to spend summers with Ruth and his family in his favorite place, Hawaii. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, selflessness, and kindness. Above everything, Jeff loved his family. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Ruth, brother, Jay (Diane), sister, Judy (Fred), daughters, Kim (John), Stacey (Terence), Toni, and grandchildren, Kendall, Trennon, Cole, Travis, Emma, Drew, and Samantha, plus many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues. Please join us for a celebration of Jeff's life on Monday, October 28th at 3pm at Pantano Christian Church at 1755 S. Houghton Road. Reception to follow.
