Dad, How can one ever express the appreciation for the caring, loving, and forever giving of yourself to make my life and those of my family better? You always had a demeanor about you that I always saw but never took the time to tell you how much I admired you for it, But Dad I'm proud to be your son.
Every opportunity to help me in any way with my many issues, no matter what it was or how hard it was, you were always there to lend a hand or lend your support, or just an encouraging word, though most of the time you were not properly thank or even shown the gratitude that you so much deserved.. I know you were doing all you could not for recognition sake but because you loved me and wanted the very best for me. And Dad, I'm proud to be your son.
All the many different things you have done during your 86 years on this earth are written above in that book of life, Dad your contribution to the betterment of many peoples lives is a legacy that will live on and on. Kids who were abused and mistreated, and neglected, with no hope for a future, had hope and the Good News revealed to them that Jesus Christ loves them and cares about their struggles and their needs, through your many efforts and hours of labor in directing the building projects that would be" Home" for these kids at the Youth Haven Desert Ranch in Picacho, AZ. And Dad I'm proud to be your son
The many families that now enjoy a place called home, because you wanted to make a difference and worked tirelessly for those 16 plus years at Habitat for Humanity, to guide and to teach those who volunteered. Folks just like you , who cared and wanted to make a difference in our community for those who couldn't other wise afford a home worked Under the auspices of "LELAND'S ARMY" so that many blessed families had a wonderful place to call " Home " But Dad I'm so proud to be your son
Dad, your life here on earth I know was full of challenges and trials, the relationships that were at times strained, your physical body that had so many different challenges and yet you could, and did so much. Through your enduring Faith and commitment to your LORD and Savior Jesus Christ , I can say with confidence that the Scripture that says " I can do all things through JESUS CHRIST my Lord who gives me strength" is a reflection of the life you lived. Thank you Dad for teaching me and giving me the guidance I so desperately needed as a young boy growing up. And continuing that through my maturing into adult hood. Your thoughtful and sometimes blunt reprimands have bless me with wisdom and have given me clarity for the direction I must go. And I'm so thankful you've been my Dad. My hope a prayer is that all your efforts that you have expended on me will be reflected in my life , That My GOD first and foremost will be honored and glorified and that I also can Honor your memory with the way I live my life. Thank you for being such a Godly example to me .And Dad, I'm so proud to have been your son. Love you so much and hope to see you again..........soon!! Kerry
