Marda Brown's Obituary
Marda Brown (Spielberger), who died on March 14, 2016, was born August 16, 1927 in Kankakee, Illinois, where she grew up. She graduated with a B.S. in Journalism, with Honors, from the University of Illinois in 1949. She married Norman J. Brown (d. 2007) on June 11, 1950. Brown was mother to Steven (Lillian) of El Cerrito, CA, Martin (Rochel) of Rechovot, Israel and Barbara (Jane) of Madison, WI. Her favorite job was as a travel agent. She was an active participant in the Jewish communities in Kalamazoo, MI; Quad Cities in Illinois and Iowa; and Tucson, AZ. Brown is survived by a sister, Jean, of Shorewood, IL. A brother, Charles, died in 1976. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Services and burial were held at Evergreen Mortuary on March 16, 2016. Memorial donations may be made in Brown’s name to Agrace Hospice in Madison, WI.
