Olga knew me before I became a Zumba instructor, and it was because of her huge support that I became -- and remained -- a group exercise instructor. She was always in my class in the position to my right---although you can just barely see her in the picture of me looking at the camera from March 2020... right before the pandemic! When I pivoted to providing classes online, Olga was there regularly! And she participated in the just-for-fun online "social party" that I hosted December 2020. Among other activities, she provided the picture of her as a child for the guess-who-it-is game. :-) She was a special friend to me.

I grieve your loss, Olga, but I celebrate your soul's birth into heaven! And I love you forever.

Olga Cohen was born in Brooklyn NY to Jack and Esther Gold on March 8, 1933. She graduated from Hunter College in NY with a teaching degree and taught Head Start for many years. She lived in Tucson Arizona since 1988 and was a devoted Mother to her children Andrew and Billie. She adored her grandchildren Amanda, Taylor, and Rory. Olga was a long-time member of Congregation Kol-Ami and taught Torah Study. She published poetry and enjoyed Zumba and riding her stationary bike in her room. In 2024 she sold her condo and moved into Handmaker Assisted Living where she lived until her passing on December 12, 2025.
