Olga Cohen's Obituary
Olga Cohen, 92, was born in Brooklyn, NY to Jack and Esther Gold on March 8, 1933. She graduated from Hunter College in NYC in the 1950s with a teaching degree and taught Head Start for many years. She moved to Tucson, AZ in 1985 and fell in love with its beautiful deserts, climate and welcoming neighbors. Her adventurous spirit took her motorcycle riding around the Western states. Olga was a long-time member of Congregation Kol-Ami, taught Torah study and participated in all aspects of Jewish life. She was a published author of short stories. Olga remained active into her 90s, enjoying Zumba and riding her stationary bike. In October 2024, she moved to Handmaker Assisted Living where she lived until her passing, surrounded by family, on December 12, 2025.
Olga is survived by her beloved children, son, Andrew (Kathi) Cohen of San Diego, CA and daughter, Billie (Michael) Adler-Plooy of Tucson, AZ, her adoring grandchildren, Amanda Cohen, Taylor Cohen, and Rory Adams. She is predeceased in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Shirley Fenichel. She treasured her family relationships with her niece and nephew and their spouses and children, as well as her many cousins.
