Paul Roger Williams' Obituary
On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Paul Roger Williams passed away from this Earthly plane. With his loving wife, Beverly, at his side he passed away at Del Webb hospital in Sun City West, Arizona.
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Paul was the youngest of seven children born to Everett and Dederika (Boven) Williams. True to his Dutch heritage, Paul learned the importance of hard work and education. By age ten he had his own paper route and worked odd jobs for his neighbors to earn spending money. After graduating from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree in Business and a Master of Business Psychology Degree he moved to Flint, Michigan, to work for General Motors, Buick Division in their employment office. In 1968 Mott Community College, also in Flint, lured him to become a member of their teaching staff where Paul taught Business Education. It was while at Mott that Paul met and then on August 12, 1978, married Beverly Wallen Dobos, the love of his life. After retirement from Mott College in 1993, Paul and Beverly soon moved to Tucson, Arizona where they fell in love with living in a desert climate. In 2012 Paul and Bev moved to Sun City West, Arizona for eight years but were in the process of returning to Tucson to be with family and friends.
With his wife, Beverly at his side the couple traveled the world extensively enjoying the wonders of God's great creation. Paul was so proud of the fact that he visited 105 countries through the years. An avid reader, photographer, weight lifter, jewelry craftsman, golfer and chef, Paul was a man in perpetual motion. Paul was also a true dog lover, and spent many beautiful years in the company of Mitzi, Buffy, and Muffy. He personally trained Muffy to be a service dog and she served him faithfully for 14 years.
Paul lived for his children, step children, grandchildren and great grand children. He often said his children and step children were miracles given to him by God. He adored his daughters, Sheila (Michael) Froncek, and Stacey (Raymond) Leffler who were his pride and joy. He so loved and enjoyed his stepchildren, Colleen (Charles) Sanders, Mark (Sylvia) Dobos, Pam Dobos and Tony Dobos Jr. He was always amazed at the love he felt for his eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He held all of them deeply in his heart and spoke of them often.
Paul was preceded in death by his siblings: Geraldine, Harold, Gordon, Robert, Richard, Donald and his grandchild, Faith Rees and his brother in law, Edward Wallen II, his sister in law, Elaine Kubica, his sister in law, Janet Bishop Wallen and his step son Daniel Dobos.
Burial services will be Thursday, October 18, 2018, in Tucson at Evergreen Mortuary on Oracle Road at 1:00 PM. There will be a visitation Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
