Rick Fink, owner of Hacienda del Sol, Zona 78 and Stray Dogs, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife Nanci, his son Kevin, his daughter-in-law Alicynn and his sister Meg Walsh. Richard P Read Obituary

Rick had a heart of gold. I met Rick 20 years ago while working for a business journal Inside Tucson Business. My publisher was so intrigued with Hacienda Del Sol and the story of Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn having their affair here. He asked me to arrange for our office Christmas party at Hacienda Del Sol. At that time our Book of Lists was going to go to print and Rob, ourvPublisher wanted to have Hacienda Del Sol be the cover for the Book of Lists.
That is when I had the pleasure of meeting Rick for the first time. He made me feel like we were already old friends. We talked about so many things that day. I remember sharing that I loved Haagen Daz coffee ice cream. I tell this because the day after our Christmas party, Rick had a very nice gentleman come to my office with a white linen napkin across his arm and a pint of coffee Haagen Daz in a ice cooler. I was beyond amazed that he even remembered I liked this ice cream but taken back that he had a pint especially brought to me at my office.
7 months later I wanted to do something special for our Publisher and his wife. Rod's Birthday was July 4th. I asked Rick if I could reserve the Tracy Hepburn Casita for his birthday weekend. Rick arranged it domit would be a very memorable birthday for Rod.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rick but I will surely miss him -running into him at Zona 78 or just around town. He loved his family and made anyone who met him feel like an old friend.

We were blessed to meet and know Rick and Nancy when they first moved to Tucson. Rick filled the room with his happy, loving energy. We remember our dinners, wine, celebration of life that Rick shared with us. Nancy was the light in his eyes, love of his forever. Kevin is his pride and joy. We love you, Rick.
