Robert L Durazo's Obituary
Roberto (Bob) Luis Durazo peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 91. He was the loving husband of Cheri Durazo. On April 25, 1953, they were married at The Mission of San Luis Obispo and shared 68 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and family.
Born in Douglas, Arizona, he was the son of Jesus and Maria Durazo. He attended Douglas High School, where he met Cheri, the love of his life, and spent many hours on the basketball court. Robert attended Northern Arizona University and later served in the US Army. Robert had a long and fulfilling career working 32 years for Sears Roebuck, managing catalog stores and working in sales. He was an active parishioner in the Catholic Church throughout his life, volunteering as a lector, usher and building a new parish. Robert is best known for his vibrant sense of humor, his command of fixing things around the house, and teaching his children and grandchildren how to drive. He always knew how to make those he was with laugh with his jokes and quick wit, and everyone he taught to drive has mastered parallel parking. He loved family gatherings, doing daily Sudoku, and singing Spanish songs from his childhood.
Robert is survived by his wife Cheri and children Annette (Mark), David (Peggy), and Lori (Kevin). He was a loving and involved grandfather to Jenna, Anthony, Yvonne, Joshua, Pearce, Piper, and Eloise. Robert was very close to his siblings and loved being part of a large family. He is survived by his sisters Concepcion Manzo and Leticia Navarro and preceded in death by brothers Laureano Durazo, and Armando Durazo, and sisters Maria Alicia Teran and Lydia Biciolis. Of special note, his younger brother Raul Durazo who he was close to in age and relationship, also passed away hours after his death.
