I'm the Society of Environmental Journalists' web content manager. I personally worked with Bob years ago, when he was reporting stories for our TipSheet. Many of Bob's friends at SEJ (the Society of Environmental Journalists) just learned of his death. He was a stalwart member, gifted journalist and writer and a good guy. My condolences to his family and close friends. He'll be missed by more people than you know.
I am very saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I've known Bob for over 10 years. I saw Bob several times at the airplane house in Colorado City on my way back from Michigan to New Mexico. Bob was always friendly, a good listener, and always willing to help out those who needed it. My condolences to you Tom, and the rest of his family.

I am so sorry to hear this news about the loss of such a great friend. I met Bob in landscape architecture school in Oregon and again in Durango, where he continued to inspire us with his humor, research and knowledge, and great writing. He will really be missed, and my life was so much better because of him.
Dear Weinhold Family, I am so, so VERY sorry for your lost, the lost of my MCS friend, giving of his vibes of quite strength and dry MidWest humor at our mutual acupuncturist. Beyond that I recently learned you grew up in my hometown of Columbus, also a researcher, and also a lover of plants. No wonder, I too, miss you deeply.
I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death can make us feel hopeless. May you find strength, hope, and comfort in God's promise at Isaiah 25:8, his assurance that He will put an end to suffering and death.
Now & then I had a long & very nice telephone conversation with Bob. I always enjoyed these as Bob was certainly a thoughtful, intelligent, caring gentleman. He kept trying his hardest to get out of the problems that we face with MCS which seem at times so unbearable & without any hope. But Bob hung in there for so many years with this disability. I finally got to meet Bob & his brother when they looked at my room for rent. It didn't work for Bob but meeting both brothers was very pleasurable. Bob got to come to my house for a short stay at 1 of our MCS parties & again it was easy to recognise what a kind & good man Bob was. May God bless the rest of Bob's family with comfort at Bob's passing. I remember Bob with very nice thoughts of a wonderful person who tried his very best with the affliction he was struck with . diane ensign
My heart goes out to Bob's family a this time. I am sure his loss leaves a huge hole in their lives. Bob was a person of great integrity and intelligence. He never seemed to let his health problems define him. Over the few years I knew him, I felt I was in the presence of a very kind and good man. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
