Rodney Wayne Slack was born on October 23, 1935 to Ruth and Elmo Slack in Kearney Nebraska. Rodney was an aircraft mechanic by trade and later after retiring from United Airlines continued to work as a mechanic on golf carts in Sa Read Obituary
So long Rod! I will miss my co-worker from United Airlines and also my golf partner. My best memory of Rod will be his perpetual happy upbeat attitude, whether it's a rainy day at work or having the worst golf shot one could ever imagine. Rod was a great wood worker. He once carved me a figure from a #2 pencil that I will treasure for life. For his retirement gift I assembled a golf putter with a 24k gold plated head with his name and retirement date engraved on it. He seemed quite pleased to receive it. I hope he sank a lot of great putts with it. My condolences to his wife and his many relatives.
A blessing for me to get to know Rodney. I was privileged to visit with him several times during his hospital stays. A courageous man. Blessings on Rose and all the family members. Dave Scoles
I haven't know Rodney only a few months, but it seemed to me every time I saw him, whether at church or in the hospital, nothing could dim the twinkle in his eye. I miss that twinkle already.
