Ronald Dean Towner's Obituary
Ronald “Bud” Towner, 77, of Tucson, AZ passed away April 7, 2015 at 5:40am. Bud was at home surrounded by his wife & daughters. He was also lovingly cared for by his sons-in-law & grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Kallie Johnson (Terry), Kim Henkel (Steve) & Kam (Merse) Sendlak (Greg); four granddaughters Kyla Martin (Tony), Kelsey Slater (Josh McDaniel), Nicole Luebke (James) & Jessica Sendlak; five grandsons Nick Henkel, Lucas Henkel, Michael Johnson, Greg Sendlak Jr, & Ryan Sendlak; six great-grandchildren Makyla Martin, Brayden Martin, Devin Martin, Kassidie Slater, Jayde McDaniel, & Collin Luebke.
Bud was the youngest child of Floyd & Elizabeth (Gimble) Towner from Colfax IL. He had three brothers: Floyd (Junior), Donald (Wart), James (Jim) & one sister, Noritta Johnson all preceded him in death. Bud is the last of his generation and will be missed by many nieces & nephews.
He grew up and lived in the Colfax/Anchor area. He served in the Army Reserves for seven years, worked as a mechanic for many years, as well as doing appliance repairs on the side. He then went on to work for M&W Gear Co, in Gibson City, IL. He also volunteered for the Anchor Fire Dept. In 1978 he & his family moved to Tucson, AZ where he worked as a certified welder until he retired in 1999.
Besides, spending time with his family, Bud loved to fish, hunt, tell stories (actually trying to pull someone’s leg) and drink beer. He touched the lives of so many people and he will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters and entire family.
A tribute will be held at the home of Bud & Barb on Sat. April 11, 2015 starting at 1:00pm. An open-house will follow at 1:30 until 4:00. Please come join us.
