Seneca Lawrence Erman M.D. passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy. He is survived by their 3 children and their spouses, Cantor Janece Cohen, Dr. S Read Obituary
Although distance kept us apart , I’ve known since I was little about my father’s cousin Seneca as his name would come up often. It was especially profound as so many of their family hadn’t survived the Holocaust. The few times we did meet it was delightful. He and my dad were the last of their generation and my dad sends his condolences. What a legacy Seneca leaves behind. I will never forget him.
Seneca and Dotty were like my uncle and aunt growing up as my mom was an only child. When we moved to Arizona we visited with them often. It was a blessing to me to have them attend our wedding in the Bahamas in 2000 and especially for Sen to act as witness. One of my fondest memories of my time with them both was when I studied law in Nice during the Summer '95. Always the travelers and adventurers, Sen was on the Windsong in the South of France as the ship's doctor. We were able to meet up every weekend in Cannes for lunch/dinner. Always full of life and the warmest of smiles, he will be missed.
We first met when my cousin Dotty brought him to our house to introduce us to the man she was going to marry. He won over my younger brother and me immediately by showing us rope knotting. My brother especially was delighted as he was a boy scout.
Thus he became a member of our family immediately
It has been awe inspiring to witness that his knowledge and devotion to his religious practices have inspired those around him...a beautiful legacy to pass on.
