I will always his ability to quell a rowdy room full of backlogged students by stumping them with a tough academic question that he seemingly would think up on the spot. He always inspired me to improve not only my own battery of questions, but also my level of understanding of our craft. I'll always remember how hard he laughed the time we threw coasters like frisbees at each other in the office just out of sight from our students, and mine hit Mr. Mountain’s computer screen while he was trying to work. I swear, I saw my life flash before my eyes, and Shawn saw it too.

I met Shawn in the military and we quickly bonded over our taste in music, love of all things sports and UFC. We spent time deployed together where I got to experience his love of the gym, especially shoulder press. We then shared our time as instructors and evaluators. He was truly, truly, a kind hearted and caring person. I hear his "smack talk" in my head and picture memories of him as I listen to my playlists... love ya brother

He was such a good NCO and guy. He always put 100% into his mentorship of airmen and in instruction.
He was a fun guy to be around. His love for Tom Brady bordered on stalker level lol….damn the world lost a great dude

I, like most, knew Shawn from the 25th. He made everyone so comfortable and as soon as he came into the room it would be filled with laughter and sarcasm :) He was the best at what he did and loved teaching the younger generation what he knew. He will be eternally missed and I will continue to tell everyone about him so his memory lives on. Miss you always :heart::heart:

I've known Shawn since we were in the 25th together. He's always been a great friend to me. I can recall countless times we've hung out together or supported one another through the tough times. He was more than a friend. He was my brother. I still recall his usual words: "I love you, man. No homo. Well....maybe a little homo." He was full of wit, humor, and an overwhelming desire to pump iron. You couldn't think about Shawn without it bringing a smile to your face. I miss you, brother.

I’ve known shawn since 2010 when we went through training together in Texas. From there I had the pleasure of being stationed with him in florida for for 9 years. I remember the excitement he had when he was expecting his first kid. The countless deployments we went on together and the love he had for instructing. He was family to me. You will be missed brother.

Shawn will always be in my thoughts. We spent most of our military careers together and he constantly challenged me to be the best at what I was doing. I’ll never forget how unapologetically he loved Brock Lesnar. I hope we can all find some joy in our memories of Shawn.
